Meet the Therapist
Victoria Lauener, MC, RCC
Hi my name is Victoria Lauener and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (RCC #22536). I’m so glad you have found yourself here at Our Place.
Many of my clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck—either numb or flooded with emotion, as if they’re moving through life but not truly present in it. We all have a deep need for connection and belonging, yet life’s experiences and the systems we navigate can sometimes leave us feeling isolated, unsafe, or abandoned. These feelings can make it challenging to engage fully in daily life and build meaningful connections with ourselves and others.
As someone who has been both a client and a therapist, I understand the courage it takes to step into therapy and show up as your true self. I feel immense gratitude and honour in being trusted to hold space for the most vulnerable and tender parts of someone’s journey. To me, counselling is more than a profession, it is a profound responsibility. I approach it with sincerity, care, and deep respect for the uniqueness of every individual.
Therapy, to me, is a collaborative and relational process. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported in exploring your experiences. Together, we will make sense of how past experiences may be showing up in the present, unpack patterns that no longer serve you, and find ways to move toward healing and growth at a pace that feels right for you.
My approach is trauma-informed, attachment-focused, somatic based, and deeply relational, meaning I value the connection we build as an essential part of the healing process. I integrate somatic (body-based), IFS/parts work, and nervous system approaches, helping you not only process emotions and thoughts but also reconnect with your body’s wisdom. By working through stored trauma, shifting survival patterns, and fostering self-compassion, we can move toward greater ease, self-understanding, and fulfillment in your relationships and daily life.
If you’re ready to begin this journey, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
